I Bought a Book...

 A few weeks ago, I bought this book, curious  if there was a book with the exact same name as the pregnancy one.  There was, but unfortunately,  it was based out of the UK, so many of the references won'tbe helpful, but, unlike so many books out there was written by an adopted child. I hope to glean much information from it. In the coming weeks, I plan to buy more materials from this side of the pond, while also working on myself.  While we were out shopping last week, I asked Burt if he wanted to head down the baby section, to not only get ideas but also get excited,  and it was all he could do to rein me in. I do have a bad habit of getting too excited and ordering a bunch of stuff we don't need before it's time.  My major concern lately is that of my hobbies.  I am an established woman as such I have plenty of activities in which to spend my time.  I started a new hobby last year, which I had originally done in high school.  It ...

The Big News

 The last few weeks have been nothing short of a blur. I haven't had a whiplash of feelings like this for a long time. I was ecstatic  after Burt told me, wanting to yell it from the rooftops so that everyone at the fair could share in my excitement. I had to stop myself from calling everyone on my contact list. The next few days were spent looking up school districts to find the best school for our little bundle of joy who wasn't even here yet!  It's like I had planned out their entire life--a Spanish immersion elementary school, followed by the only IB school in over 30 miles, Chinese in high school followed by music, and science and anything else that would help them succeed. But then, terror: school shootings are an unfortunate reality of today's educational landscape, and I'm helpless to help them. I wish with my being that it was possible to breastfeed because breast is best, but also formula is obscenely expensive.  Since then, thoughts have trickled through ...
